An ode to sophistication

Hidden away in the Paris neighbourhood of Les Halles is a lovely 100m2 duplex penthouse which architects’ studio Apogée refurbished by optimizing it to the full.

Apogée planned to revamp the penthouse, giving it a chic, elegant facelift, while still taking into account the need for functionality. To do so, all the home’s living spaces were fully redesigned, although a decision was taken to conserve the white metal girders on both its floors, using them as linking thread.

White was also used for the high ceilings, doors and mouldings, since it infuses the home with purity and an added sense of spaciousness.

Various different materials were used to differentiate the living spaces, such as MDi or oak parquet. By uniting staggered wood patterns with our Geo Crema MDi model, inspired by Travertine marble, different areas could be harmoniously combined.

In this way, the kitchen was integrated with the living area and yet kept subtly separate from it. The designer furniture also helps to merge or unite the different rooms, with decorative items carefully chosen to do just this.

The duplex also features a small office area in the living room, and two full bedrooms with private bathrooms. Nonetheless, the attic floor is the genuine jewel in the crown.

This exquisite space houses the main bedroom and bathroom, the duplex’s two snuggest rooms, where full advantage was taken of MDi’s singular beauty. Just like the suite of a 5-star hotel, the bedroom and open-plan bathroom are a tribute to warmth and tasteful beauty.

All in all, this fully refurbished Paris penthouse duplex is an ode to sophistication.
