Today, we travel to the Greek capital to take a look at a new project where MDi surfaces were put to different uses in the refurbishment of a 1990s penthouse with striking views of the city.
When architect Eleftherios Ambatzis was commissioned with the project, the apartment consisted of a series of little rooms with narrow windows that opened onto its balconies. Hence, the main goal was to give the top-floor flat a more spacious, open feel.
Ambatzis unified the different areas and totally revamped the apartment. He designed an open-plan living room with big windows to create more space and greater continuity between the home’s interiors and its exteriors.
The Iseo collection acts a linking thread in the different rooms, used in various ways. Thanks to the versatility of MDi surfaces, Iseo was used on the terrace that surrounds the penthouse, as a countertop and backsplash, and also as a decorative feature in the bedroom.
The design of the apartment’s interiors also played an important role in its refurbishment. The bespoke lighting and exclusive furniture were fundamental in making a sophisticated, elegant impact.
