Continuity as the main cornerstone of projects

23 · 10 · 2024

You might have occasionally wondered whether it is a good idea to use the same floor covering throughout the whole of a project. The answer is easy: yes! It’s a very smart option and today, we’ll tell you why.

Firstly, it creates a greater sensation of spaciousness and luminosity, making rooms seem larger. By using the same design as a link in all the living spaces instead of different finishes or materials, a greater sense of depth can be achieved.

Secondly, more visual continuity is ensured, even more so if a square-shaped model is used for the floors since it creates the illusion of more space while also adding a touch of elegance.

It has been clearly demonstrated that the human eye views a continuous surface as being a single space because our brain fails to register any individual divisions. This means that a project with continuous flooring will always seem bigger than it really is.

Another very important advantage of using the same flooring throughout is the fact that the same design can also be extended to the project’s outdoor areas.

Inalco has a wide variety of collections that can be used on outdoor floors, combinable with the same finish in the project’s interiors.

Our designs have been developed to guarantee a superb non-slip grip without relinquishing any of the visual appeal synonymous with MDi surfaces.

In 360º interior design projects, another trendsetting possibility is to match the flooring used throughout with the same model on the walls. In this way, harmonious end results can be achieved in keeping with the rest of the project.

If you decide to do this, the best option is to combine a square-shaped model on the floors with a vertical one on the walls, avoiding any horizontal joints that might visually interrupt the surface. This will make the walls seem higher.

Lastly, it is important to note that although pale-coloured designs have conventionally been chosen as single flooring, in reality, any design can be used to create a spacious, natural looking backdrop with a sense of depth, regardless of its colour.

Given our close awareness of this fact, we offer a total of 18 different collections available in a slimline square format, perfect for the interiors and exteriors of projects.

What’s more, when it comes to choosing the right finish for use both indoors and out, not only can you choose from the models in our range, but you can also customize the surface of your choice, thanks to our bespoke Tailor Made service.
