MDi, light and a never-ending horizon: a villa set between the sea and sky

07 · 07 · 2025

There is a private villa on the island of Lesbos (Greece) that overlooks the Aegean Sea’s calm waters and manages to encapsulate the values of modern Mediterranean architecture to perfection: simplicity, carefully selected materials, and integration into the landscape. The villa, located in Mytilene, stands out for its formal purity, with a neutral colour spectrum that engages with the natural light. Our Masai Blanco collection plays a star role there, acting as a linking thread throughout the home.

The villa is made up of open, horizontal volumes in constant dialogue with the surrounding landscape. Regardless of where you stand, the sea and the vegetation seem to permeate the villa through its big windows, accentuating the sensation of seamless continuity between its interiors and exteriors. Our Masai collection, in a large format and bush-hammered finish, acts as a restful backcloth, while its mineral design reinforces the villa’s ties with nature. Its subtle texture and warm shade of colour set the scene, infusing the architecture with timeless beauty and enriching it in discrete style, letting the light and the landscape take pride of place.

MDi was chosen for aesthetic and functional reasons: its resistance, easy care and versatility make it the perfect solution for living spaces where a combination of beauty, durability and comfort are sought. In this villa, Masai suffuses its living spaces with sophistication and silent elegance, contributing to users’ wellbeing.

The villa demonstrates that in new modern takes on Mediterranean architecture, MDi is the perfect ally in bringing a sense of identity, superior quality and environmental commitment to projects. This is a home that truly reflects the spirit of its Mediterranean location through an architectural language that is sober, modern and deeply human.
