In Calle Alcalá, a central Madrid street, one of the city’s most emblematic buildings can be found: Casino de Madrid. Today, we will enjoy the design and stunning views of its terrace, a project designed by Julio Guixeres.
Prestigious chef Paco Roncero, the winner of two Michelin stars and three Repsol suns, heads La Terraza del Casino restaurant, one of the capital’s most innovative places to dine out.
Its design is equally ground-breaking, with a mix of materials and textures conceived to enhance the leading-edge gastronomic experience afforded by the restaurant. The solemnity of this building and the other historic ones that surround it contrasts with the modern interiors that Julio Guixeres created for Paco Roncero’s restaurant.
When we take a seat on the armchairs by Expormim, we immediately feel at ease, thanks to the lighting of the sunshades, specially designed by Guixeres for La Terraza del Casino, which illuminates the terrace. In combination with the Iseo collection by Inalco, which was used for the flooring, the gold sunshades add an elegant, exclusive touch. Iseo’s grey surface, bush-hammered texture and terrazzo design make it the perfect backcloth for all the rest.
Iseo can be found in the bar area, where it accompanies the main bar counter and some big plant pots made with the Azalai collection by Inalco, whose black surface adds a touch of sobriety to the whole setting. As with the dining area, gold is also present in different features designed by Julio Guixeres, creating a pleasant sophisticated backdrop for whiling away memorable evenings and summer nights.
