Grace House

ARCHITECTURE: RUBÉN MUEDRA
BUILDER: NIEDEKER HOUSES
PHOTOGRAPHY: ADRIÁN MORA MAROTO

Grace House is the featured property this week, an attractive project by the Rubén Muedra Architects' Studio in which several Inalco surfaces were used.

Rubén Muedra’s team undertook a complete refurbishment of a property built in the 1970s on a plot of more than 1,200 m2.

The main objective was to get rid of the structural limitations typical of that period, using innovative materials that offer the maximum technical specifications along with a contemporary look. Another of the key requirements was to provide the house with the latest technological advances to maximize the owners’ comfort.

Outside, the project team created a single volume with tremendous visual power using Travertine marble on every façade. As a result of their determination to provide every space with the maximum amount of natural light, the construction included large windows, terraces leading off the rooms, and even a large skylight to illuminate the basement. In addition, the house has several doors leading outside and direct access to the swimming pool.

For this project, Rubén Muedra chose to use several MDi by Inalco collections which helped to give every space its own unique personality while at the same time ensuring that the stone surfaces would imbue a modern and timeless overall aesthetic.

For the interior walls, the architect chose the Touché, Storm and Petra series, which create an architectural feel thanks to their dimensions and the elegant design of the surfaces. These slabs look spectacular in combination with the elegant walnut panels chosen to complement the interior design.

For the flooring both inside and outside the house, the architect opted for an exclusive design and Petra, Storm and Pacific collections in contemporary designs inspired by nature. In addition, they fulfilled all the decorative and functional requirements of the owners in terms of both the Non-Slip finish on the poolside terracing and the hard-wearing character of the flooring used in the basement.

In addition, Petra and Storm were used for several countertops which further underlines the versatility of the MDi range by Inalco, allowing every surface to be fully integrated within the overall interior design.

Another feature worth highlighting is that the house boasts a sophisticated home automation system for its various installations which allows all its devices to be controlled. All in all, this is a space designed by and for the family that will inhabit it, in which a large number of Well Building principles have been incorporated.
